چکیده
Common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is considered as one of the principle grain legume crops grown in Western Himalayas Jammu and Kashmir, India. This region holds great diversity common germplasm. The purpose present study was to characterize 109 genotypes collected from different hotspots for morphological traits—plant growth (growth habit, type, twinning habit); leaf (color, size, shape); flower stripping on outer petal); pod (shape relation suture, shape cross-section, distal part, stringiness), seed (color shape) traits, quantitative traits (seed weight, length, breadth). preliminary analysis trait data showed wide variation traits. Furthermore, diverse 60 were selected out evaluated micronutrients (Fe, Zn, Cu) macronutrients (K, Ca, P, Mg). micronutrient macronutrient indicated substantial these minerals Seed Mg, K, Ca concentrations varied 1,220.5 2,737.5 ppm, 1,980–4,050 8,344.5–14,794 300–5,350 respectively. Similarly, Fe, Cu ranged 80.5–180.6 14.64–104.08 0.9–13.4 evaluation led identification candidate possessing high macronutrient. identified during will prove useful breeding programs donor genotypes, development genetic resources gene discovery through functional genomics transcriptomics.

Gene/QTL discovery for Anthracnose in common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) from North-western Himalayas
Common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is one of the most important grain legume crops in the world. The beans grown in north-western Himalayas possess huge diversity for seed color, shape and size but are mostly susceptible to Anthracnose disease caused by seed born fungus Colletotrichum lindemuthianum. Dozens of QTLs/genes have been already identified for this disease in common bean world-wide. ...
متن کاملPurification and characterization of arcelin seed protein from common bean.
Arcelin, a seed protein originally discovered in wild bean accessions, was purified, characterized, and compared to phaseolin, the major seed protein of common bean, and to phytohemagglutinin (PHA), the major bean seed lectin. Arcelin and PHA has several characteristics in common. Both were glycoproteins having similar subunit M(r), deglycosylated M(r), and amino acid compositions. The two prot...
متن کاملAblating L-FABP in SCP-2/SCP-x null mice impairs bile acid metabolism and biliary HDL-cholesterol secretion.
On the basis of their abilities to bind bile acids and/or cholesterol, the physiological role(s) of liver fatty acid-binding protein (L-FABP) and sterol carrier protein (SCP) 2/SCP-x (SCP-2/SCP-x) gene products in biliary bile acid and cholesterol formation was examined in gene-ablated male mice. L-FABP (LKO) or L-FABP/SCP-2/SCP-x [triple-knockout (TKO)] ablation markedly decreased hepatic bile...
متن کاملAll - Termination ( SCP )
We recently introduced the All-Termination(T ) problem: given a termination solver T and a function F , find every subset of the formal parameters to F whose consideration is sufficient to show, using T , that F terminates. These subsets can be harnessed by a theorem prover to locate and justify induction schemes, and are also useful for guiding rewriting heuristics and ensuring their terminati...
متن کاملImpact of SCP-2/SCP-x gene ablation and dietary cholesterol on hepatic lipid accumulation.
While a high-cholesterol diet induces hepatic steatosis, the role of intracellular sterol carrier protein-2/sterol carrier protein-x (SCP-2/SCP-x) proteins is unknown. We hypothesized that ablating SCP-2/SCP-x [double knockout (DKO)] would impact hepatic lipids (cholesterol and cholesteryl ester), especially in high-cholesterol-fed mice. DKO did not alter food consumption, and body weight (BW) ...
